Indonesia urges citizens in Iran to stay alert amid US-Israeli strikes

The Indonesian Embassy in Tehran urged citizens to increase vigilance following US and Israeli attacks on Iran and rising security tensions in the Middle East.

In an Instagram post Saturday, the embassy asked Indonesians to remain calm and secure themselves and their families at home.Indonesian citizens are also asked to actively update the embassy on local security conditions through coordination groups and follow rules and instructions issued by local authorities.

In emergencies, the embassy provides a consular hotline at +989024668889 for assistance.

The embassy said it will maintain close communication with all Indonesian networks in Iran to monitor developments and determine strategic measures as the situation evolves.

On Saturday (Feb. 28), Israel and the United States launched a new military strike on Iran, the second by the Trump administration following a similar attack in June 2025.

Trump said US forces carried out a major operation to protect Americans by neutralizing what he described as threats from Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons program.

Washington and Tehran previously held three rounds of indirect talks on Iran’s nuclear program, mediated by Oman, amid escalating regional tensions.

The first two rounds took place earlier this month in Muscat and Geneva, focusing on limiting Iran’s uranium enrichment and stockpiles in exchange for sanctions relief.

The third round was held Thursday (Feb. 26) in Geneva, days before the latest US-Israel strike, as regional security tensions continued to rise.
